Welcome to the Ceccheti Society Trust Newsletter

Happy New Year to all our supporters! The Trust’s work in 2023 begins with providing opportunities both for young dancers and for teachers studying the Cecchetti Method.

60 talented young dancers will be participating in the Vocational Classical Ballet Awards at Elmhurst Ballet School Theatre on 5th Feburary 2023 - it promises to be a wonderful day of dance and we hope many will be able to join us in Birmingham.

Applications for our 2023 Teacher Study Bursaries are now open. The bursaries provide valuable support for teachers at all stages of their careers and we warmly encourage applications.

Vocational Classical Ballet Awards

Elmhurst Ballet School Theatre, Birmingham, B5 7UH
Sunday 5th February 2023

The Cecchetti Society Trust is delighted that 60 talented young dancers will participate in the Vocational Classical Ballet Awards in Birmingham. The Awards incorporate the Fewster Cecchetti Scholarship and the Barbara Geoghegan Award. All competitors will participate in an adjudicated ballet class onstage set at Advanced 1 Level containing unset work and specified traditional Cecchetti exercises. Those entered for the Barbara Geoghegan Award will also perform a solo classical variation. Awards Adjudicators are Susan Lucas, former Soloist with Birmingham Royal Ballet and Jonathan Payn, Principal Character Artist & Assistant Répétiteur with Birmingham Royal Ballet.

The Awards are open to a public audience and the Trustees hope many supporters will be able to attend. Tickets are priced £10.95 Adults and £6.65 for Students and those aged 16 years and under. Teacher Study Bursaries 2023

Applications Invited!

The Cecchetti Society Trust offers bursaries that are awarded annually to support teachers in their study of classical ballet and the Cecchetti Method. Whether beginning a teaching career, transitioning from a career as a professional dancer to teaching, or studying for higher level teaching qualifications there are a wide range of bursaries available.

Applications are welcomed for the 2023 Study Bursaries and further information and application forms are available on our website from the button link below. Applications must be received by 1st March 2023.
